Durban Girls High- 125 year’s young!
Established in 1882 Durban Girls High School has been molding the lives of the fairer sorority of Durban for over a century and a quarter now, and in this, our 125th year, we are delighted to reconfirm the continuation of our service to the community through the numerous events we have planned in celebration of our anniversary. On the 7th of March we kick off our Celebrations with a special assembly and commemorative flag raising ceremony which is followed in April by the school production of the Harper Lee Classic, “To Kill a Mocking Bird.” Tickets will be available through the school and your support will be greatly appreciated.

On the 12th of May we are proud to invite all past pupils to the Founders Day tea and Luncheon. In the evening we will be hosting the Founders day Dinner which will be accompanied by a show. In this regard we’re calling all past Durban Girls' High pupils who took part in school productions over the previous 25 years. So if you still have a song or a dance left in you and would like to be part of our 125th Birthday Cabaret Evening, please call the school at 031-2052275 or e-mail margie@dghs and leave your contact details. June see’s the production of our “Musical Extravaganza” coinciding with the floral garden display at Mitchell Park.

While in July we again celebrate peace and unity through the annual DGHS Big Walk, which has become an institution since its inception. This year the theme is “Walk for Peace.” as we are all aware of the desperate need that this cause holds not only in our city but also worldwide. And finally we round up the year with the official opening of our archives in August and a thanksgiving celebration in October. We welcome all past pupils who are interested in getting involved or attending any of the functions to contact us. So please register via email with Mrs. Woudberg on ewoudberg@dghs.co.za .
